(More customer reviews)Mountain Plumbing seems to supply many of the water filtration companies with faucets, instant hot units and other associated products. However, they do not stand by their products or offer replacement/repair for products that have KNOWN issues.
Like the previous reviewer, we had our instant hot system flood our under sink area and damage brand new, expensive cabinets in our newly remodeled kitchen. The hose that connects the water heating unit to the faucet melted where it attaches to the heating unit, water then sprayed everywhere under the cabinet and we didn't realize this was occurring until there was so much water underneath that it began to run out of the cabinet onto the floor.
When our plumber called Mountain Plumbing to discuss the problem, the customer service representative commented that this was a common complaint (!!!) and that they hadn't figured out a permanent fix for it yet. She then transferred him to a technical representative who claimed it could be fixed with a $25.00 hose repair kit plus postage to send it out.
The representative couldn't explain why this was occurring but did claim that the new hose was different and wouldn't melt (opposite of what the first representative said). Our plumber, who was being very polite but firm (we were in the room listening to his side of the phone call) was on the phone with Mountain plumbing for twenty minutes trying to get them to stand by their product and send the repair kit for free since it was a known issue.
The Mountain Plumbing representative was not concerned about the lack of quality, the fact it was a known issue which then caused over $1000 in damage, and he had no interest in customer satisfaction or making things right.
Our plumber indicates this is a very unusual problem and they've not seen this occur with other manufacturers - it is unique to Mountain Plumbing products.
Don't buy Mountain Plumbing products.
