I bought this faucet in chrome and in less than a year it leaked at the base every time we swiveled it from one side to the other. We got another one and it did the same thing. We're going to buy a different brand this time.

Blanco 511-652 Diamond Super Single Bowl Kitchen Sink, Anthracite Finish Review

(More customer reviews)After a miserable experience with Americast sinks, I was careful to do my homework before selecting a replacement. The Blanco brand overall has received a lot of good feedback from people on review/chat boards, and the Silgranit in particular has been well received.
I'll add my voice to the Silgranit supporters - this is one fantastic sink! The color is wonderful - looks great and so easy to keep clean. I've been using the Blanco cleaner and it works well, but they say in their documentation that you can use any nonabrasive cleaner with good results, and use Bar Keepers Friend for stubborn stains.
Very easy to install. The sink weighs about 45 pounds, so it's not a chore to lift into place. I mounted it as a drop in, but you can also mount it as an undermount. Really like that the rim is flat so when mounted as a drop in you can use the back rim to hold items (like a brush/scrubber holder) without it falling off. It comes with 10 clips should you want to do an undermount so there's nothing additional that needs to be purchased.
It comes with one center hole drilled, but you can easily add more. There are a total of six additional hole punchouts - the back is scored so you can punch out the hole using a hammer. Blanco provides detailed directions on how to do so, even specifying the type and size of the hammer you should use. One hole was fine for my install, but this is a great feature for those who need something other than the standard hole layout - you can get a custom layout without paying an extra dime (or having to wait weeks for a special order).
The sink is very well packed at the factory with foam all over. Survived the UPS truck without a scratch.
Blanco customer service is responsive. I emailed them with a question concerning the use of plumbers putty and they got back to me within an hour. They do not recommend using plumbers putty since the oils in it can leach into the granite and stain. You probably wouldn't notice it on the anthracite color but, to be on the safe side, I used marble-safe putty. That can be hard to find since the big box hardware stores typically don't carry it, but you can usually find it at a plumbing supply house. Other options are clear silicon (which is what Blanco recommends) that you can find anywhere. Silicon can work great but it's a real bear to get rid of should you want to change out a faucet or drainpipe down the road. If you can find it, marble safe putty is the better option.
I was a bit worried that I would miss having two basins, but one big basin is so much more useful. You can soak cookie sheets, large pans, etc. with ease. Great to have all that room!

Kingston Brass KS3791AXBS Restoration 8" Center Kitchen Faucet with Brass Sprayer, Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)Until recently I had the nickel version of the Kingston Brass KS3791 faucet. I was originally drawn to the faucet by its good looks and antique styling that fit perfectly into the our home decor. The faucet and sprayer are both made of heavy brass. The sprayer's heft is quite pleasant when compared to others on the market. It feels very high quality.
The faucet was easy enough for the family handyman to install and the faucet provided about 1-2 years of faithful service without fail.
After that, things started to go wrong. The first thing was the white "H" (hot) and "C" (cold) circular trim at the top of the handles. Each came loose and then fell off, almost as if long-term water has loosened the adhesive. I tried to super glue them back on, but it didn't hold.
The nickel finish also proved to be cheap. While using a scrubbing sponge to get rid of water marks on the faucet the nickel finish literally scrubbed of in some places, leaving the finish with an unpleasant look. My wife was not pleased with that.
Lastly the faucet started to drip, slowly at first and then a constant stream. Kingston Brass's customer service suggested that I replace both cartridges at the same time so for about $50 I ordered both. As I went replace them I was confused as to which tool to use as the nut holding the cartridge in was in a very tight space. A professional plumber I had over for some other work also was baffled. After reaching out to Kingston Brass's customer service again, they said simply that a 5/8 inch deep ratchet would do the trick. After running out and buying this specific ratchet, I tried it and it was simply too wide to fit in the area to remove the old cartridge. After notifying Kingston Brass's customer service of this they suggested I try a specific brand of ratchet.
Well, that was it for me. I could see no way that any other brand of ratchet was going to fit in there and I didn't want to mess with it anymore. When I approached them to return the expensive cartridges they told me that they didn't have a record of the order and could not issue a refund. This was further acknowledgment that I made the right decision to replace the faucet with a brand that could properly support post purchase issues.
Summary:
Initially a good quality product, but finish can scrub off and repair and customer support can be very problematic.

It's too heavy and falls down, cutting off water every 30 seconds or so. Have to hold up handle while water runs. Ridiculous. Comes with a plastic bushing inside that is CHEAP. We have Deltas and Moens that have lasted for 15 years in our house and are still going strong. This piece ofjunk lasted two months before we ripped it out and put in a Moen. I will never buy Price Pfister again. J-U-N-K.

(More customer reviews)As I don't have a dishwasher, I consider this a necessity to save water while I wash dishes. It flips up and down with the light touch of a finger, saving the mix of hot-cold water you established and releasing a only tiny stream of water when it is activated (needed to keep it blowing up or something like that). Flipping the switch up and down is an easy habit to develop in only a few days. And you will save a lot of water while you are doing things with the dishes like scrubbing or stacking that don't need water. When the old off-on faucet aerator I had disintegrated after 15 years (and it had considerably more drip, too), I found this one on Amazon and it works very well. Possibly a little too well, as the drip of water is so slight that you might not notice it is still activated when you are done with your dishwashing, and might forget to shut off at the faucet. So I had to develop a new habit to make sure the water was really shut off at the faucet and not just the aerator. Wasn't too hard to do. I really recommend this product, and I couldn't find it at Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Home Depot. It's worth the $10, really.

(More customer reviews)I'm just the family handyman, not a professional. Here are my observations, having just installed one as a replacement for an inexpensive pullout. The lady of the house wanted a escutcheon and a slightly longer and taller faucet. This one fit the bill, though now it seems a little bit "in your face" but one can probably get used to this and it can be rotated out of the way so that it's not even over the sink. The control handle rotates about 100 degrees and does NOT have that return-to-neutral feature--it will stay at the temperature setting when you turn it off.
The flared front was a concern, as it was not clear what exactly it was from the drawings. It turns out not to be a bell or a hood, but solid and flush metal with a threaded hole for the aerator. Only about a third of the aerator sticks out after installation, but it was installable by hand.
The first installation of the escutcheon (which is optional, as you can leave it off, but maybe plumber's putty would be needed in that case) had one side off the counter. It turned out that there was a raised cover on one side making it thicker. I ended up cutting it off with a small hole saw on a drill press, being careful to stay away from the water sealing lip around the edge. The material is plastic, but pretty hard to remove. I thought that the cover might pop off, but it didn't seem the case. The faucet installs on one hole. The escutcheon will cover 3 holes, but there is no mounting through the 2 unused holes.
This faucet comes with built-in supply tubes which are pretty long, maybe 2 feet or a bit more. The hold down to the counter is done with three bolts through the body of a thick nut which goes around the central threaded pipe which pushes up a metal washer against the bottom of the counter. This makes for much easier work under the sink. If needed, longer bolts with the same thread could probably be found at the hardware store for special cases like if your old hold-down washer resided in an inset hole. The central threaded pipe is amply long for thick counters, say 2.5 inches--the specs say 1.125 but that's for the side sprayer part only. The hold-down hardware does not take too much away from the usable length, although the escutcheon does raise the faucet higher and takes a bit away from the usable counter depth.
For a standard installation, all the parts in the box are used, and there's nothing more to buy save plumber's tape (and maybe some plumber's putty if you're not using the escutcheon). This faucet is a bit taller and longer than the usual pullout. But if you don't like pullouts or sprays, give this faucet a look. Maybe the less reflective finish would make for a less obtrusive feeling, but then again, the morning sun glinting off chrome is also nice.

I wanted to like this valve, but I ran into three problems:
1. When valve is shut off, back pressure causes aerator to pop off threaded white adapter - spraying water everywhere.
2. When it doesn't pop off, it leaks.
3. Push/Pull nozzle was very loose. It kept falling into spray mode. Hard to keep it in stream mode.

(More customer reviews)Basically I love this faucet. The automatic start is great when I have raw meat on my hands but sometimes it takes a few shakes in front to get it to go on. Also the place where the water comes out is very high and angled out so sometimes the water splashes out of the sink. It should have a piece that allows the water to flow directly down. Other than those 2 complaints it is beautiful and I would recommend it if you can live with the imperfections. The luxury of a no touch faucet is worth it to me.

I would re-tighten the center screw every other day, but the handle continued to get loose. Then I looked up repair parts for my faucet to see if I could permanently fix the problem with new parts, but according to Delta's web site, some of the repair parts have been discontinued. Be careful.

The head of the faucet is usually hanging down from the body of the faucet, as the weight on the water line is too light and misplaced to keep the faucet together. It also leaks. Although they have a five year guarantee, they will only send you the parts, and you have to do the repairs yourself, or hire a plumber. There are other brands out there that are pretty much maintenance free. Choose one of them.
