(More customer reviews)Our last lever broke after about a year, so we purchased this to replace it. The old one was all metal, this one is using plastic inside the tank. First thing I noticed was that the piece that is supposed to fit snug inside the opening was smaller than the old one, and beveled in. So, that had to be tightened down such that it was the pressure from the nut holding it in place. The box states no tools are needed, but my experience was that the plastic nut could not be hand tightened enough for the lever to actually function without slipping (either slipping in the opening, or slipping at the lever arm). No big deal, I just grabbed a pair of pliers and tightened it down until it stopped slipping. Worked great for one or two days, and then slipped until the handle was 45 degrees down. Worked for another two or three days like that. Now it just slips and the plastic will not grip enough to turn the lever, the nut can not be tightened any more. I'm very disappointed in Moen's choice to go with plastic.
