(More customer reviews)The main image for this product looks amazing - in fact I wish someone would make a faucet that looks like this. Perhaps just an optical illusion, but the picture makes it really look like this faucet has a square-base. The second photo is what you are actually getting though - a round-based unit, with a silly (and gaudy) looking plastic jewel/bead in the middle of the top of the base. When you are buying mostly for looks, these little details are quite important.
So what you have here is a round base, with the on/off lever forming a cap over this base w/ handle protruding forward (one molded piece). There is a peanut shaped cut-out on the top of the lever/cap that allows the faucet stem to connect to the base. You turn the water on/off by rotating the lever to the right or left - using the stem/cut-out as the stop for the lever. This cut-out in the lever for the faucet is a horrible magnet for grime and dirt.
The faucet stem felt a little wobbly in its base after install, which lead me to discover that the stem is in fact just in to the base with a couple of rubber washers holding it loosely in place. Feels very chintzy. You also get quite a bit of drizzle out of the spout after the water is turned off.
Overall, I would give it 3/5 stars for looks, and 2/5 on quality.
Shipping was quick, and everything I needed to get it installed came in the box. Instructions were minimal but sufficient.
