This cartridge features a slightly different design from the original cartridge. The installation instructions provided by Delta online are specific to the original cartridge. The design changes render certain parts of the old instructions entirely irrelevant, renders other parts entirely backwards from what is now required and -- in the case of setting the range of motion for the handle -- leaves the installer to figure that out without any guidance at all.
The picture of the item looks as though Delta includes instructions in their packaging. But, the seller removed the cartridge from the original packaging, wrapped the cartridge in bubble wrap and did not include any installation instructions. The bubble wrap did a great job of protecting the cartridge -- no complaints there. But, including the instructions would have been nice.
There is no question that Delta is to blame for having not updated their online instructions. If Delta includes instructions in their packaging, I can only wonder whether those instructions are specific to the original cartridge or the slightly (but significantly) different replacement cartridge.
